An All Progressives Congress chieftain in Kwara, Ibrahim Ajia, has unveiled the Ajia Progressive Alliance for Asiwaju/Shettima to galvanise grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Mr Ajia stated this in a statement issued by his director of communications and strategy, Abdulrahman Aliagan, and made available to newsmen on Friday. The unveiling and consultative meeting attracted party elders, women and youth representatives, grassroots mobilisers and other APC stakeholders from across Kwara Central.

According to Mr Ajia, the engagement forms part of a broader statewide consultation aimed at consolidating support for Mr Tinubu. He added that the engagement also aimed to strengthen the APC’s grassroots structures and ensure the party’s victory in Kwara during the 2027 general elections.

Mr Ajia described Mr Tinubu’s re-election as a collective responsibility of every loyal APC member, saying the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda required continuity to achieve its long-term objectives. He urged party members to remain united, committed and focused on mobilising support across local government areas, communities and wards.

“Our priority is to ensure the successful re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027. We must close ranks, strengthen our structures and work together to deliver Kwara convincingly for our great party. Unity, consultation and grassroots mobilisation remain the foundation of this mission,” Mr Ajia said.

The Ilorin-born security expert and businessman said the initiative was established as a strategic mobilisation platform to coordinate support for Mr Tinubu.

“It is to also expand the APC’s grassroots reach and encourage greater participation of youths, women and other critical stakeholders in the political process,” he said.

He also announced plans to establish a ‘Strategic Think Tank Team’ to coordinate political planning, develop mobilisation strategies, engage with the national leadership of the APC and oversee activities across Kwara’s 16 local government areas.

Mr Ajia further disclosed that a dedicated coordinating office would soon be established as the operational headquarters of the movement. While acknowledging the importance of internal cohesion within the party, he assured members that all stakeholders would continue to be carried along through regular consultations and constructive engagement.

He commended the stakeholders who spoke at the meeting for the laudable initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would energise the party’s grassroots base and reinforce support for Mr Tinubu across Kwara.

The stakeholders included Ahmed Jimoh, Reuben Olatunde, Saadat Yusuf, Yusuf Amuda (Adewole), Alhaja Lateefat, Maruf Inujin, Tunde Bifuwe of Ilorin West and Balogun Okunlola of Ilorin South, among others.

They emphasised collaboration among all segments of the party, unity and active participation of women and youths in grassroots mobilisation, while pledging support for the initiative across all 16 council areas of Kwara.
