The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ghana chapter, has urged the new leadership of the party to establish a diaspora office at APC national headquarters in Abuja.

The chairman of the party in Ghana, Oghenosa Micheleti, said on Sunday that the new office should be headed by a National Executive Committee (NEC) approved diaspora chapter chairman.

Mr Micheleti, the treasurer of APC Diaspora Chairmen Committee and member of the APC national convention sub committee on Diplomats, Diaspora Members, Observers, Volunteers & Essential Personnel (DDOVE), said the diaspora office would ensure cohesion and regularisation of members of the party in the diaspora.

He lauded the APC for a successful convention, pointing out that the rancour free convention was a huge plus for Nigeria’s image abroad.

“As a ruling party, the APC convention was monitored by international powers and organisations and shows that Nigeria’s democracy has come to stay,” he said.

The APC Ghana chairman reiterated the loyalty of the chapter to the party, its leadership and to the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

Mr Micheleti, however, urged all members of the APC in Nigeria and diaspora to close ranks and support the leadership to work for the success of the party in the build up to the 2023 general elections.
