APC restates Tinubu’s legacy as reforms, consolidation of democracy

The All Progressives Congress in Lagos has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s enduring legacy as one firmly rooted in reforms, service, and democratic consolidation.
APC spokesman Seye Oladejo made this statement in Lagos on Monday, dismissing what he described as false narratives designed to discredit the president’s leadership.
According to him, Mr Tinubu is a lifelong democrat whose political journey began in the 1990s, during the pro-democracy struggles, when he opposed military rule at great personal risk.
Mr Oladejo noted that the president had consistently upheld constitutionalism and had never supported tenure elongation or any attempt to undermine constitutional order throughout his public service career.
He stressed that Mr Tinubu openly resisted past attempts by leaders to extend their stay in office, proving his fidelity to constitutional democracy remains unquestionable and consistent.
“Nigeria’s democracy is stronger than any individual’s ambition. The constitution provides term limits and checks safeguarding the people’s sovereignty,” Mr Oladejo said.
He added that Mr Tinubu remains focused on economic restructuring, strengthening security, and building institutions, rather than being distracted by baseless conspiracy theories or idle political speculations.
“His legacy will be measured by reforms, inclusive governance, and democratic consolidation — not by rumours or manufactured claims of politicians seeking cheap relevance,” Mr Oladejo said.
