The All Progressives Congress (APC),  Osun State chapter has said its candidate for the August 16 governorship election, Bolaji Oyebamiji, will deliver a turnaround across key sectors within the first 18 months of his administration if elected.

The Chairman of the APC Media and Publicity Committee of the campaign council, Remi Omowaiye, said this on Wednesday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun Council Guest Platform, in Osogbo.

Mr Omowaiye said the party’s candidate would prioritise improved electricity supply, healthcare, infrastructure and job creation, among other areas.

He added that Mr Oyebamiji had assembled technocrats and competent individuals to head ministries, departments and agencies to ensure effective delivery of his campaign promises.

He assured residents and workers that the candidate would prioritise their welfare and boost food production through agriculture.

On political violence ahead of the election, Mr Omowaiye said the APC was not involved in violence but had consistently been a victim.

“The philosophy of our candidate is that he will not step on anyone’s blood to get to office,” he said.

Mr Omowaiye urged security agencies to provide adequate protection for party members during campaigns and on election day.

He expressed confidence that the APC candidate is qualified and capable of leading the state towards industrialisation.
