APC youth leader restates claim that Buhari regime using fuel scarcity to scuttle Tinubu’s electoral chances

National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, has reiterated presidential candidate Bola Tinubu’s accusation that the Muhammadu Buhari regime was orchestrating fuel scarcity in order to rob his campaign of goodwill.
Mr Israel wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday that the scarcity that continues to take harder tolls on the citizenry is an act of internal sabotage by high-level members of the APC to quash Mr Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
“Over the last 7 years, we have always had fuel availability every Christmas. It was even a major scorecard that December fuel crisis came to end. How come the December before election, suddenly fuel became scarce, reason am! To make APC look bad to Nigerians? INTERNAL SABOTEURS,” Mr Israel wrote.
This follows weighty accusations that Mr Tinubu made in Ogun state during a campaign rally yesterday.
Mr Tinubu had said that the fuel scarcity and recent redesign of the naira and cash handling policies introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) were politically motivated to ensure he loses the election.
“You’re hoarding fuel and hoarding the naira,” Mr Tinubu said during a campaign stop in Abeokuta on Wednesday. “Still, we will vote, and we will win this election.”
He added, “Whether you change the ink of the naira or spend money till you are in debt, things won’t turn out as you hope, we are the ones who will win the election, and our opponents will fail.”
