The Women Wing of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Anambra State chapter, has endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for re-election in the November 8 governorship election in the state.

The endorsement was announced on Thursday in Awka during the 2025 Anambra State Women Summit held at APGA South-East Regional Office.

The summit had the theme, “Together We Rise: Achieving the Best Through Women.’’

The APGA Women Leader in Anambra State and Convener of the summit, Esther Onyekesi, said that Mr Soludo deserved re-election to enable him to complete his development projects.

Mrs Onyekesi said that the endorsement of the governor as the women’s sole candidate was based on his accomplishments. .

She said, “Soludo has done tremendously well in all sectors of the economy, particularly in the health and security sectors. Today, every pregnant woman in Anambra, irrespective of tribe and religion, gets free antenatal and delivery care in any government hospital. Our children are going to school free, we now sleep with our two eyes closed. Our youths are being trained and empowered free through skill acquisition programmes of the government. We, the women of Anambra, are calling on contestants from other political parties to consider stepping down for Governor Soludo. This will allow him to fully actualise his Vision-2070 of transforming Anambra into a clean, green, peaceful, secure, livable and prosperous homeland in Nigeria.’’

Mrs Onyekesi noted that the summit was organised to seek support for the governor’s re-election.

Responding, the wife of the governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, thanked the women for endorsing her husband for a second term.

She said that her husband’s administration prioritised women empowerment and improved women’s living standards.

She stated, “My husband’s administration recognises women as nation builders, which society cannot do without. I applaud our women for their remarkable turnout, which reflects their support and appreciation for the efforts my husband is making. Be assured that he remains committed to advancing the welfare of women in the state.’’
