Army, navy inaugurate borehole, health facility in Kano

The Nigerian Army and Navy have jointly inaugurated community development projects in Koya town, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
The projects were facilitated by Maj.-Gen. Muhammad Sani-Ahmad and Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed.
The projects included a mosque, a borehole, a health facility, and a tree-planting initiative.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, represented by Maj.-Gen. Usman Yusuf, commander, Infantry, emphasised the Nigerian Army’s commitment to contributing to its host communities through civil-military cooperation.
He said the projects reflected the army’s belief in strengthening bonds with communities.
The Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, also emphasised inter-agency collaboration as key to development and national security.
He spoke through his representative, Rear Admiral Aboye, at the inauguration of the invaluable community development projects.
Governor Abba Yusuf described the projects as timely and people-oriented while speaking through retired AVM Ibrahim Umar, Commissioner for Internal Security.
The Director of Civil-Military Cooperation, Maj.-Gen. Gold Chibuisi, said the initiative aligned with the military’s role in nation-building and humanitarian outreach.
