Arrested APC thug Asiri released, placed under Nigerian Army’s watch

All Progressives Congress (APC) thug, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, who was today arrested by personnel of the Nigerian Army has been released.
Mr Oyewale was arrested on Friday alongside other political thugs at Ojurin motor park, Old Garage, Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
However, following intervention from some top government officials, he was released but placed under the Nigerian Army’s watch.
The Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Osogbo Branch, who was arrested alongside two of his boys and subsequently released, was earlier accused by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, of invading his palace.
“Go and tell them and let Asiri Eniba know that I won’t tolerate disruption of peace in my domain,” the monarch had said on July 6, during the visit of Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In similar development, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Osun poll, Johnson Kokumo, confirmed that some cult groups have been arrested in different parts of the state ahead of the Saturday election.
Mr Kokumo, who featured on Channels Television Friday evening, said not less than 15 members of various cult groups have been arrested in the state in the last few days.
“Currently, a sizable number of members of various cult groups have been arrested with light arms and they are now cooling off in detention, we will process them through the court.
“The moment we are able to get rid of the cult groups from the garages, criminal hideouts, from the various black spots in communities, then, we are good to go.
“To me, these are criminal elements that must be put in their proper place for elections to be conducted in a conducive atmosphere where people can exercise their rights to vote.”
