Arsenal demolish Man City in six-goal EPL thriller

In a six-goal English Premier League thriller on Sunday, Arsenal continued their push for the title this season, thrashing defending champions Manchester City 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
It took Mikel Arteta’s Gunners just two minutes to open the scoring courtesy of their captain, Martin Odegaard.
The Gunners maintained a one-goal lead into halftime, containing City’s fierce attack. But the game became more interesting in the second half as City’s goal machine, Erling Haaland, fired in an equaliser with a header in the 55th minute.
With both teams level for less than a minute, the Gunners doubled their efforts to take the lead again courtesy of Thomas Partey’s strike.
Six minutes later, Myles Lewis-Skelly doubled Arsenal’s lead, scoring his first Premier League goal.
The Gunners pressed further as Kai Havertz, who missed a chance earlier in the game, made it four, while Ethan Nwaneri, who came on as a substitute, fired in a stoppage-time goal to make it five for the Gunners.
Arsenal remain second on the EPL table with 50 points after Sunday’s victory, six points behind Liverpool, who have a pending game. With 41 points, City remain fourth on the table—15 points behind Liverpool.
