Arsenal return to EPL summit with narrow win over Newcastle; Liverpool beat Palace 3-1

Arsenal are back to winning ways after a narrow 1-0 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to return to the summit of the Premier League table.
The result meant that the Gunners, on 73 points, are now three points ahead of Manchester City in the fight for the league title this season. Pep Guardiola’s side still has one game in hand.
A rocket shot by Eberechi Eze, nine minutes into the crucial match from yards out, was enough to secure the maximum three points for Arsenal. Both teams kept each other at bay for the remainder of the match.
“We had so much discipline, courage and great habits defensively. With the ball, there’s moments that we have to do much better if we want to be much more dominant. We have to have some end product. The important thing is the reaction,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said at full-time.
Meanwhile, at Anfield, Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 to move fourth on the table, tied on 58 points with Aston Villa and third-placed Manchester United, which have one game in hand.
Alexander Isak opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 35th minute before Andrew Robertson doubled the lead five minutes later as the Reds headed into the halftime break with a two-goal advantage.
Daniel Munoz reduced the deficit for Crystal Palace in the 71st minute. However, Florian Wirtz scored deep into added time to seal the victory for Liverpool.
