Atiku sympathises with Lagos flood victims

A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, extended heartfelt sympathy to residents of Lagos State affected by the prolonged rainfall and resulting flooding in several areas.
Mr Abubakar, in a post on X on Tuesday, said his thoughts were with families, business owners and other residents whose lives and livelihoods were disrupted by the incident.
He said, “I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the people of Lagos who have been affected by the ongoing flooding.
“My thoughts are with the families, motorists, commuters, business owners and everyone whose lives and livelihoods were disrupted by this unfortunate event.”
The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) said the incident brought to the fore the “shared humanity and the importance of standing together in support of one another.”
He prayed for the safety of all residents and for a swift return to normalcy.
Mr Abubakar’s message comes after several parts of Lagos, including Oshodi, Alimosho, Agege, and Lekki, experienced flash flooding, which began on Sunday.
