Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has again taken a swipe at Atiku Abubakar, saying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate cannot become Nigeria’s president.

Mr Tinubu, who spoke at the presidential campaign rally of the APC in Ondo, said the former vice president would sell Nigeria to the highest bidder if allowed to rule.

“Atiku (Abubakar) cannot do it, he doesn’t want to build a better nation instead he will rather sell your birthright to the highest builders. Atiku policies and action are nothing,” he said at the rally on Saturday in Akure.

Messrs Tinubu and Abubakar would next month join other presidential candidates which include Peter Obi of LP and Rabiu Kwakwanso of NNPP on the ballot.

The candidates are in the race to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari, who would be rounding off his two-term of eight years tenure by May 29.

Although, Mr Abubakar has been facing stiff opposition internally from his party since he emerged as the presidential candidate of the PDP.

His emergence as well as the choice of Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his vice, angered some governors led by Nyesome Wike (Rivers).

The G5 governors, namely Mr Wike, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Seyi Makinde (Oyo), have repeatedly said they won’t support Mr Abubakar’s candidacy and has continued to distance themselves from his campaign.
