Mr Odo noted that all senators were invited to attend the emergency plenary.
The protesters, led by activist Aisha Yesufu and a popular street demonstrator known as ‘flag boy,’ marched through the streets of Abuja carrying placards.
They accused Mr Akpabio of removing the electronic transmission clause from the Senate’s electoral bill.

“We want a law that is clear, concise, and can be interpreted by all and that is unambiguous, so, it is electronic transmission of results,” Mr Abaribe said.
“This rejection is most shameful and unfortunate, attracting condemnation from all democratic-minded persons,” said PDP.
Senators also rejected Clause 47, which sought to allow electronically-generated voter identification.
