INEC, on Saturday, released the timetable for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Mr El-Rufai had resisted an attempted arrest at the airport in Abuja on Thursday by SSS operatives.
INEC announced that continuous voters’ registration (CVR) will commence in April 2026 and conclude in January 2027.
The EFCC said it had already invited the former governor, who is billed to appear before the commission on Monday, February 16, 2026.
“Listen, nobody, not even the President would tell me what to do. If you want to invite me; send a letter,” Mr El-Rufai said.
The amendment noted that if electronic transmission failed due to network communication issues, manual result sheets (Form EC8A) would be used for election results collation.

The protest was held at the main entrance of the National Assembly in Abuja.
