The repudiation of Mr Tinubu’s certificate — the only academic qualification he presented to the electoral office — came at a deposition of school officials on Tuesday in Chicago.
“For me, the issue is not whether President Tinubu graduated from Chicago State University or not,” Mr Ajayi wrote on X Tuesday evening.
“The court cautions President Tinubu that any request for a stay before this court will be denied,” Nancy Maldonado said.
The ruling marks a major blow to Mr Tinubu and a progress for Mr Abubakar, who has been seeking the records to establish that the Nigerian president tnedered forged certificate.

The APM asked the Supreme Court to re-examine the lower court’s ruling and declare Mr Tinubu unqualified to contest.
The agency took responsibility for the incident and paid the hospital bills for the injured.
Mr Abubakar wants to use the document to prove Mr Tinubu committed perjury and, therefore, is unqualified to be Nigeria’s president.
The State House declined comments about Mr Tinubu’s itinerary. But senior administration officials said he was dealing with strategic issues in Paris.
