“I wish today’s difficulties did not exist. But we must endure if we are to reach the good side of our future,” said Seyi Tinubu.
“Public opinion should be respected. Let the winner win. Let the loser lose. No one should get anything extra,” said the politician.
“Tinubu is thief! Tinubu is thief!” the protesters hurled their opprobrium toward the president in a video posted on X.
“This is not the Benue we prayed for. The electioneering period is over, and now is governance,” said Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Mr Olusegun, in a post on X, said Mr Tinubu, who was captured sleeping at the event in Addis Ababa, gave the “most inspiring” speech.
The demonstration is aimed at pressuring Senegalese authorities to commit to a specific date for election.
Mr Matawalle said that the President and his team were working to alleviate the burdens on the citizens.
In the statement, Angela Quintal, head of CPJ’s Africa programme in New York, condemned Senegalese police brutalising journalists covering protests.
