The NPF complaint response unit said in a post on X on Sunday that the officers were summoned for disciplinary action.
He said that it took the intervention of a top government functionary for him to escape the murder charge.
The police authorities said they were summoned to Abuja for questioning over the incident.
According to the command, Mr Adeniyi was charged on four counts.Â
His two associates riding with him were killed in the crash on Monday.
The commissioner of police assured residents of the command’s commitment to safeguarding critical national infrastructure.
The government officials explained that a vehicle conveying a team of four, collided with a stationary truck.
The police noted that efforts were ongoing to arrest the suspect’s fleeing accomplice.
Mr Bakare-Oki described the accident as deeply painful.
Mr Troost-Ekong said, “I have been sent the official certificate today following the announcement last night.”
