Governor Yahaya Bello’s government has sued the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), demanding N35 billion in damages.
“A governor in a North-Central state within the last six years (one individual) has withdrawn over N60 billion in cash,” the EFCC boss said in the publication.
The former president said the warning was because the Yorubas “don’t all go in the same direction, which is part of our strength in Yoruba land.”
The deceased’s father had earlier come out to say the school’s principal queried him for releasing the videos and photos of his son’s final moments.
“Due to the recurrent trends of shortfall in budgetary allocations…there might be an envisaged delay in payment of December 2021 salary.”
The police command in Lagos has interrogated three Dowen College students over the torture and eventual death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student.
“We hereby request Your Lordship to conduct an inquest into the circumstances surrounding this tragic death at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos State.”
Mr Oromoni claims the school did not reach out to his family during their child’s ordeal.
The government announced in a letter to the school that all academic activities, including online classes and examinations are to be shut down.
The school described the 12-year-old, who died after he was reportedly tortured to death by fellow students, as “a beacon of light for the school.”
