The Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, Babatunde Hunpe, has congratulated the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, on his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Mr Hunpe’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement he signed and made available to journalists on Saturday in Badagry.

He said Mr Hamzat’s emergence reflected the confidence reposed in his competence, intellect, loyalty and administrative depth.

“This is a clear affirmation of your unwavering commitment to the progressive ideals that have sustained Lagos’ development trajectory over the years.

“Your distinguished record in public service, remarkable contributions to governance, policy innovation, infrastructure development and human capital advancement have continued to inspire confidence across party lines and among the people of Lagos State.

“Your calm disposition, strategic leadership style and dedication to inclusive governance have positioned you as a worthy torchbearer of continuity, stability and progressive transformation,” the chairman said.

Mr Hunpe said he was delighted that the APC had once again demonstrated unity, foresight and collective responsibility in presenting a candidate whose pedigree reflected excellence, competence and the enduring spirit of service.

He stated, “Your acceptability and unanimous endorsement by stakeholders and party faithful speak volumes about your credibility and capacity to lead. Your visionary leadership, institutional experience and political maturity are essential for sustaining the gains of governance in Lagos State.

“I have no doubt that under your leadership, Lagos State will witness greater consolidation of economic growth, infrastructural expansion, youth empowerment, technological advancement and people-oriented governance.”
