Armed bandits have raided Faje village in the Sahon-Rami area of Mashegu LGA, Niger State, kidnapping the wife and daughter of a traditional ruler, Shaibu Isah.

Aliyu Kulho, a local, told the Peoples Gazette on Tuesday that the bandits invaded the village between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

“Bandits suddenly attacked the village in the night and abducted the village head’s wife and one of his daughters,” said Mr Kulho.

He added that while terrorists were heading back to the Borgu forest, one man was caught and had his hand chopped off.

When The Gazette contacted Kabiru Garba, the divisional police officer of Mashegun, he said the police were still gathering details of the attack.

The command’s spokesperson, Wasiy Abiodun, did not immediately return a request for comment.
