Bandits kill forest guard, abduct wife in latest Kwara attack
Residents of Oba Isin community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State were thrown in panic on Wednesday when suspected bandits stormed the community, killed a forest guard and abducted his wife.
It was gathered that the bandits stormed the community Wednesday evening, shooting sporadically while leaving residents to scamper for safety.
A resident, who spoke to Peoples Gazette and pleaded to remain anonymous, said, “The community is in panic. Armed bandits stormed the village not long ago, killed a forest guard and kidnapped his wife.
The identity of the slain guard and the kidnapped victim remained unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, could not be immediately reached for comment on the latest attack.
The attack came after security operatives arrested a disguised bandit arrested in Igbaja, Ifelodun LGA on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the State Security Service alerted the state commissioner of police, Adekimi Ojo, to an alleged imminent terrorist attack by suspected Mamuda terrorists on Gbabe community in the Baruten LGA of the state.
