Bank robbery attempt suspect shot in Myanmar’s Sagaing

Myanmar’s security personnel foiled on Wednesday a bank robbery in Sagaing Town of Sagaing Region, killing one suspect, the state-run daily The Mirror reported on Thursday.
According to the report, four armed men on two motorcycles arrived at a bank in Sagaing Town at around 4:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday and attempted to rob it.
After receiving information about the robbery, local security personnel raided the bank to arrest the suspects.
The report said that one of the suspects was shot by the security personnel.
The security personnel also seized a homemade pistol, nine 9 mm bullets, a bomb and two motorcycles during the operation, the report added.
Investigations revealed that the suspected robbers were members of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) in Sagaing, it said.
The report added that further security measures are ongoing to apprehend the escaped suspects.
