Barack Obama wins Emmy for ‘Our Great National Parks’

Former United States President Barack Obama has become the second president to win an Emmy after he won the ‘Outstanding Narrator’ award at the recently concluded film and TV awards.
Mr Obama won the outstanding narrator Emmy award for his work on the Netflix documentary, ‘Our Great National Parks’.
“The 44th U.S. President is now an # Emmy winner for Outstanding Narrator! @BarackObama takes it home for Our Great National Parks (@Netflix)! #Emmys #Emmys2022,” The Television Academy said on Sunday.
Higher Ground, Mr Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama’s production company, created a five-part docuseries highlighting national parks and wildlife worldwide, ‘Our Great National Parks’ streams on Netflix.
“Congrats to President Barack Obama who just became the first President to win a competitive Emmy for narrating Our Great National Parks,” Netflix tweeted on Sunday.
Mr Obama is the second U.S. president to win an Emmy. The Television Academy awarded Dwight Eisenhower an honorary Governors Award in 1956.
Mr Obama has previously won two Grammys for audio versions of his memoirs, ‘The Audacity of Hope’ and ‘Dreams from My Father’.
