Bauchi governor suspends pilgrims board boss
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has suspended the executive secretary of the state pilgrims welfare board Babangida Tafida.
The Bauchi government did not state the reason for the suspension.
A statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado, Mr Mohammed’s media aide, indicated that the suspension was with immediate effect.
It stated that a suspension letter had since been despatched to the executive secretary.
The government added that it had inaugurated and mandated a committee to investigate the general affairs of the board under his stewardship.
Mr Tafida was appointed executive secretary of the board in 2020.
