Bauchi installs solar panels at health centre

The Bauchi State Government has installed solar panels at the Badara Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) in the Kirfi Local Government Area to ensure uninterrupted power supply and improve healthcare delivery.
Officer-in-Charge of the facility, Mohammed Sani, disclosed this on Monday during a media tour of government projects in the area.
Mr Sani explained that the health centre had been damaged by flooding in 2023, which severely disrupted essential health services.
He said, “Last year, the heavy rainfall we experienced damaged our facility and affected service delivery. But presently, the centre has been renovated and given a new look.’’
According to him, the facility now operates independently of the national grid, using solar energy with a backup generator to sustain operations.
“The PHCC includes critical units such as maternity, laboratory, and pharmacy services.”
He confirmed that the centre now operated 24 hours a day and expressed appreciation to the state government for creating a more functional and supportive environment for healthcare delivery in the community.
