Bauchi traders beg for inclusion in FG’s MSMEs intervention fund

Traders in Bauchi State have appealed for inclusion in the Federal Government’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) intervention fund.
The FG’s N75 billion MSME intervention is designed to support MSME across the country.
Vice Chairman, Muda Lawal Market Traders Association, Aminu Babaji, said this on Thursday during a sensitisation on the mid-term achievements of the Bola Tinubu administration.
According to Mr Babaji, access to affordable credit facilities will create more enabling environment for young entrepreneurs struggling to expand their businesses.
He said, “The loan will provide opportunities for small businesses to grow and propel young entrepreneurs to excel. We have applied for loans several times, most of us have yet to receive any support. The federal government should directly empower people with the capital they need to boost their businesses.”
He called for sound measures to address cumbersome registration processes.
Earlier, Head, Federal Information Center in Bauchi, Ibrahim Ladan. said that the Tinubu administration had initiated viable programmes to promote economic growth, improve market infrastructure, and support the informal sector.
Mr Ladan urged traders to take advantage of the opportunities of the administration’s economic reform programmes.
He said that effective collaboration between government agencies and business communities was essential for sustainable economic development.
