Bayelsa: Royal father praises Gov. Diri for completing Nembe ‘unity bridge’

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa has been praised for ensuring the completion and commissioning of Nembe unity bridge.
The Amayanabo of Opu-Nembe Kingdom, King Biobelemoye Josiah, Ogbodo VIII, expressed his appreciation Mr Diri in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
The governor, in company of former President Goodluck Jonathan, had on February 28, commissioned projects in Opu-Nembe and Nembe-City Kingdoms.
Mr Josiah lauded Mr Diri for completing the bridge linking Bassambiri and Ogbolomabiri communities with Nembe, in just two years of his administration.
According to the royal father, the bridge which has been under construction for more than 10 years, will not only solidify the peaceful co-existence between Opu-Nembe and Nembe City Kingdoms, but will help boost commercial activities.
He therefore, called on the governor to remain dedicated to completing unfinished people-oriented projects by past administrations as a demonstration of his “broad minded” brand of politics.
The paramount ruler also hailed Mr Diri’s inclusive governance style, and urged him not to relent.
He also showered praises on former president Jonathan, whom he described as “evergreen Ex-President of Nigeria”.
He commended the former president for honouring him and Nembe kingdom, by paying him a visit before proceeding to the project site for commissioning.
