Bayern Munich are through to the Champions League semi-finals after a dramatic 4-3 victory against Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena, while Arsenal edged Sporting 1-0 on aggregate.

Bayern trailed early in the game after a shaky start, conceding just 45 seconds in as an error from Manuel Neuer gifted Arda Güler the opener.

Six minutes later, the hosts responded as Aleksandar Pavlović headed home from a smooth delivery by Joshua Kimmich to level things.

Madrid were back in front after Arda Güler converted a brilliant free kick from 30 yards following a foul in a dangerous position, putting Madrid 2-1 up and levelling the tie on aggregate.

Kompany’s side responded again with a fast build-up play finished off by Harry Kane, bringing Bayern back level and pushing them ahead on aggregate.

Real Madrid retaliated right before half-time through a fine strike from Kylian Mbappé after a setup from Vinícius Júnior.

After the tough first half, Madrid substitute Eduardo Camavinga was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for a foul on Kane, leaving Madrid with ten men.

Three minutes before stoppage time, Luis Díaz grabbed a late equaliser from an assist by Jamal Musiala to make it 3-3 and 5-4 on aggregate.

Michael Olise then sealed the victory with a late strike, beating Andriy Lunin with a well-timed effort.

Bayern Munich move into the Champions League semi-finals, knocking out Real Madrid in a high-intensity encounter and ending the Spanish club’s run in the competition.

Meanwhile, Arsenal moved into the semi-finals after a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium, knocking out Sporting thanks to Kai Havertz’s late winner in the first leg.

The Gunners will face Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals as they continue their push for Champions League glory while also fighting for the Premier League title.

Elsewhere, Arsenal face Manchester City on Sunday in a tough league decider, while Sporting clash with Benfica in a huge Primeira Liga fixture.
