Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday that the principles of international law are being overshadowed by power politics, leading to heightened global tensions.

Addressing newly arrived foreign diplomats, Mr Lukashenko described the modern world as increasingly fragile and unstable.

Nearly 90 countries, almost half of the world’s states, are now involved in ongoing conflicts, including major nuclear powers, the Belarusian leader noted.

He expressed concern over the humanitarian and economic consequences of these wars, urging the international community to shift its focus toward cooperation and development.
