Biola Bayo announces separation from husband, says pair will co-parent son

Nollywood actress Abiola Adebayo, popularly known as Biola Bayo, has revealed she and her husband Oluseyi have been separated for over a year, bringing an end to their union in what she described as a “mature and peaceful” decision for the sake of their son.
The actress made the announcement on Tuesday in an Instagram post that doubled as a birthday message to her now estranged husband.
Referring to him as her “ex-husband and baby daddy,” she said they had been separated since April 2024.
“Yes you heard me right! My husband and I have been separated since April last year,” she wrote.
“But we have decided to maturely and peacefully co-parent our dear son who means everything to us.”
Despite the pain the separation might have caused, the actress extended warm wishes to her ex, praying for grace, peace and success in his life.
“To everyone that feels disappointed, I’m sincerely sorry, I wished it worked but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story,” she added.
“While I go about making other people happy in the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months but I gain strength from Christ who loves me eternally and gave himself for me.”
She urged the public to be kind to others, noting that people often endure hidden struggles.
Actress, producer and TV presenter in Nigeria’s Yoruba-language film industry, she began her acting career in the early 2000s and gained recognition for her performances in films such as Èbùdò (Taboo) and Ika ni mẹrìndílógún.
Known for her emotional depth and versatility on screen, she has also hosted several lifestyle and talk shows.
The actress asked her followers to keep her family in their prayers as they continue navigating life post-separation.
