Despite repeated denials by President Donald Trump that he sent a birthday book to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, Democrats on Monday released the controversial birthday letter that showed otherwise—a letter shaped in the form of a naked woman, bearing what appeared to be Mr Trump’s signature, albeit in cursive black-inked “Donald” occupying what looked like the pubic region of the diagram.

The lawyers for Mr Epstein’s estate turned over his 50th birthday book to Congress in response to a subpoena and the letter that Mr Trump claimed does not exist was found therein.

The Wall Street Journal, which was still fighting a defamation suit filed by Mr Trump for reporting the birthday letter in July, was the first paper to release the controversial diagram of words sent to Mr Epstein on his 50th birthday in 2003.

“Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” the letter carrying Mr Trump’s signature stated.

Back in July when The Journal first broke the story, Mr Trump fiercely denied the letter’s existence and raced to institute a suit against Dow Jones, the publication’s parent company.

But on Monday, The Journal released the letter to stand by their story but White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt insisted the letter was a hoax and that Mr Trump will continue to pursue his defamation suit against the newspaper.

“President Trump called the Epstein investigation a hoax and claimed that his birthday note didn’t exist. Now we know that Donald Trump was lying and is doing everything he can to cover up the truth,” said Robert Garcia, the most senior Democratic congressman. “Enough of the games and lies, release the full files now.”

Ms Leavitt reiterated the president’s innocence.

“As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” the White House spokesperson said in a post on X.
