Nigerians are experiencing power outages across the country after electricity distribution companies announced a grid collapse Wednesday afternoon.

“We wish to inform you that a system disturbance occurred on the national grid at 1:32 p.m. today causing power outage across our franchise areas,” AEDC said on Wednesday.

Jos disco posted a similar message on social media pleading for patience, noting that efforts to restore the power was underway..

The discos did not attach a timeframe to when the grid would be fixed, leaving many business entities in limbo regarding when electricity would be restored.

The national grid continued to suffer incessant collapses in recent months on the heels of unfulfilled promises by the Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu to improve the sector.
