Brazil to supply vaccines, medicines to Latin American countries

Brazil plans to increase production of vaccines, medicines, and medical equipment to supply products not only to the domestic market but also to other countries, primarily in Latin America.
Brazilian Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin said that by 2033, the country plans to meet 70 per cent of its domestic demand for medical products through domestic production.
To achieve this goal, he said Brazil will expand the production of medicine components and support scientific research.
According to the report, the country had risen from 18th to 12th place globally in terms of the number of clinical trials initiated.
This opens further opportunities for developing new medicines and treatments.
The authorities are also focusing on disease prevention, vaccination, early diagnosis and patient rehabilitation.
