Buhari appoints Obinna PPPRA chairman, re-appoints Saidu executive secretary

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Atuonwo Obinna as Chairman, Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).
The announcement was contained in a statement by his spokesman Femi Adesina in Abuja on Friday.
Mr Adesina said the president also approved the reappointment of Abdulkadir Saidu as the agency’s executive secretary for another four years.
Mr Obinna, who replaces Mohammed Buba as chairman, will also serve a four year term.
The appointments follow agitations by the Nigerian Labour Congress for the reconstitution of the PPPRA board.
PPPRA is a federal government agency that determines and fixes the prices of petroleum products in Nigeria.
According to Mr Adesina, the appointment of Mr Obinna is in accordance with Section 2 (1-3) and 3 (a) of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (Establishment, ETC) Act 2003.
