Buhari doesn’t want to leave a failure: National Security Adviser

President Muhammadu Buhari does not want to leave government as a failure when his tenure expires in 2023.
Mr Buhari disclosed this at a meeting with service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, according to National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno.  Â
Mr Monguno said “the President is quite happy that there’s been a tremendous success, especially with the advent of the new service chiefs and Inspector-General of Police.Â
“And he’s also made it very clear that he’s not ready to exit government as a failure; he is not going to tolerate that.”Â
Mr Monguno added that Mr Buhari is determined to make more changes in the security architecture of the country if he is no longer satisfied with the performance.Â
“He’s made changes and he’s ready to make further changes if he is not satisfied.
He is completely determined to ensure that there’s a turnaround in the fortunes in the theatre of operations” Mr Monguno said.
Nigeria continue to face myriads of security challenges.
The decade-long insurgency war is still raging in the North-East, leaving at least two million displaced and hundreds of thousands killed.
The North-West has become hotbed of banditry, mass kidnapping for ransoms and cattle rustling.
Other parts of the country also face farmer-herder clashes, armed robbery and secessionist calls.
