Buhari minister slumps at public event

Minister Maryam Katagum collapsed at a public function in Bauchi on Monday.

Maryam Katagum, the  Nigerian Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment has collapsed  at the launch of an empowerment programme in Bauchi State.

Mrs Katagum was said to have collapsed as she was angling to present a speech at Sanin Malam Plaza in Bauchi. 

She was rushed to the trauma centre of the Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in the company of Baba Tela, the deputy governor of Bauchi State.

“The minister slumped as she stood up to deliver her address and launch the programe, she held her head and went down flat,” a witness said.

Another witness said on arrival at the venue of the ceremony, the minister was seen touching her head at intervals.
