Buhari should learn from Gov. Emmanuel how to fight bandits, keep Nigeria united: PDP

The PDP has advised President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime to understudy and adopt the template initiated by the Akwa Ibom government to achieve sustainable peace and development for national peace and harmony.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, the party gave the advice on Sunday.
PDP urged Mr Buhari’s regime to immediately understudy the model of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) programme, unveiled at the weekend by Governor Udom Emmanuel as part of his measure to engender peace and development in the state.
The main opposition party noted that such a template would help the regime combat Nigeria’s insecurity and other crises.
“Our party insists that with the right template at the national level, our nation will come out of the woods and regain its pride of place among the comity of nations,” the PDP statement said.
The party added that the template had enabled the Akwa Ibom government to manage contending interests in the state effectively.
PDP further explained that it had also helped Akwa Ibom achieve harmony among the political class, enhanced public-private partnership, and created an enabling atmosphere for greater citizens’ participation and harmonious living in a multifarious state.
“Under the MPM template, the energies of all segments of the state’s population; the youths, political class, business community, professional groups, faith-based organizations, traditional institutions and private individuals are being harnessed for the development of the state,” explained PDP.
The party commended Emmanuel’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful state.
According to the party, the situation has enabled him to effectively deploy the resources available to the state to impact lives, create enduring infrastructure, attract investors, provide jobs, and improve the people’s living standard, in line with the manifesto of the PDP.
