Bukayo Saka nets brace as Arsenal beat Liverpool to stay atop EPL log

Arsenal regained their top spot on the English Premier League with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Bukayo Saka’s brace was crucial to Arsenal’s victory over Merseysiders.
The Gunners took the lead barely 58 seconds into the game as Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli fired in their first goal.
Darwin Nunez came to the rescue for the visitors, equalising for Liverpool in the 34th minute. But Saka restored Arsenal’s lead few minutes to the end of first half, leaving Liverpool behind the home side.
Liverpool return into the second half much stronger, attacking vigorously to get an equaliser while Arsenal defended stoutly to secure their lead.
The Reds’ hard work yielded another goal in the 53rd minute as Firmino pulled another equaliser, cancelling out Arsenal’s lead.
Saka grabbed a winner for the Gunners in the 76th minute from the spot, pushing Arsenal to the top spot on the EPL once again.
Sunday’s win is yet another statement that the Gunners are contender for the title this season, while the defeat dims Liverpool’s title hopes this season.
With 24 points in nine games, the Gunners are ahead Manchester City by one point. City have 23 points in nine games.
