Buni, APC stakeholders endorse Wali as governorship candidate

The Yobe All Progressives Congress’ Critical Stakeholders’ Forum has endorsed Baba Wali as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, Governor Mai Mala Buni’s spokesman, on Thursday.
It stated that the endorsement was announced at the stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, which was led by the governor and police affairs minister Ibrahim Geidam.
The stakeholders described Wali as a seasoned technocrat with adequate qualifications, patience, and the temperament for effective leadership and governance.
The forum also noted that the former SSG had been an active player in various state administrations for many years, qualifying him to maintain the state development plan’s mission and vision, according to the statement.
It said Messrs Buni and Geidam, the forum’s chairman, promised to continue engaging party members in dialogue to entrench peace and unity in Yobe.
The stakeholders adopted consensus as the mode for its 2027 primary elections on April 24.
