Businessman jailed three months for buying stolen vehicle

The Jos area court on Tuesday sentenced a 36-year-old businessman, Paul Bitrus, to three months imprisonment for buying a stolen vehicle.
The panel of two magistrates, Adam Sadiq and Hyacinth Dolnaan, who sentenced Mr Bitrus after he pleaded guilty, gave him an option of N25,000 fine.
They also ordered that the stolen vehicle be returned to the owner.
The prosecution counsel, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on November 15, 2022, at the Anglo-Jos Police station by Onyekwere Churchill of Halogen Security Company attached to Nasco Foods.
The prosecutor said the convict bought the vehicle for N18 million one Tardoo Tegbenda, who stole the vehicle.
