By-election results show Nigerians are pleased with APC

The results emanating from the just concluded by-elections across states show that Nigerians still repose great confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a spokesman in the presidency, Garba Shehu said in a statement on Sunday.
In the statement, Mr. Shehu said: ”We do not take this confidence of the people for granted and we will not fail them.
The presidential spokesman stated in spite of the worsening economy compounded by the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, many Nigerians still appreciated the efforts of the administration in making life better for all citizens, and thus voted for the APC.
”We thank them immensely for their trust in the party and government,” he added.
Mr. Shehu also attributed the party’s successes to the Interim Management Committee of the party as well as governors and other party apparatchiks.
”We also thank all our governors, parliamentarians, state, local government and ward level APC chapters and the entire ranks of the membership for this brave and impressionable performance,” the statement further read.
While congratulating the successful candidates, Mr. Shehu said ”President Muhammadu Buhari in particular, is very pleased with the election outcomes.”
The presidential aide quoted the president to have urged the party to uphold the spirit of ”hard work, unity, progress, cooperation that form the bedrock of these victories.”
