Canadian authorities have declared a 28-year-old Nigerian Michael Ikechukwu wanted over allegations of committing criminal harassment and violation of his probation.

The Waterloo Regional Police announced the manhunt in a statement on Friday, asking the public for relevant information to locate Mr Ikechukwu’s whereabouts.

According to the police, the case against the suspect stemmed from an incident that happened on June 28 when officers received a report about an unwanted contact at an apartment in Kitchener, Ontario.

“Waterloo Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a male wanted in connection to an investigation. On June 28, 2026, police received a report of unwanted contact at a Kitchener residence,” the police said in a statement.

Following an investigation, the police stated that Mr Ikechukwu was subsequently charged with one count of criminal harassment and two counts of breach and probation while an arrest warrant was also issued for his arrest.

However, efforts by law enforcement officers to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful, prompting the decision to turn to the public for assistance. Officials noted that he regularly visits Kitchener and Waterloo.

“As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael Ikechukwu, 28, for the charges of: criminal harassment and breach of probation (two counts).

“The whereabouts of Mr. Ikechukwu are unknown and attempts by police to locate and arrest him have been unsuccessful. He is known to frequent Kitchener-Waterloo,” the Waterloo police added.
