Canada has issued fresh 188 removal orders and deported 111 migrants linked to organised crime and extortion-related activities.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in a statement on Monday said the decision followed investigations involving foreign nationals who might have violated the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, including those engaged in criminal and organised crime activities, such as extortion.

“These investigations are built on information from law enforcement partners, other government agencies, CBSA-led investigations, and public reporting. The CBSA places the highest priority on enforcement and removal of cases involving criminality, organized crime and individuals who pose a risk to public safety.

“As of September 3, 2026, 188 removal orders have been issued on various inadmissibility grounds, and 111 individuals have been removed from Canada,” the statement said.

The CBSA explained that 91 removal orders were issued and 58 individuals removed from in Pacific Region.

Noting that 47 removal orders were issued and 30 individuals removed in Prairie Region, the agency added that 50 removal orders were issued and 23 individuals removed in Greater Toronto Area Region.

Citing four cases of four foreign nationals linked to extortion and organised criminal schemes in Canada, the CBSA said it removed 23,160 inadmissible persons, 1,010 in 2025.

It noted that the affected persons were subject to serious inadmissibility for serious criminality, including national security, war crimes or human rights violations, organised crime and criminality.

“CBSA is currently removing approximately 400 inadmissible individuals every week. Through Canada’s Border Plan, $30.4 million was allocated to strengthen the CBSA’s capacity to complete 20,000 removals annually last fiscal year and in 2026–2027,” the agency added.

The Minister of Public Safety Canada, Gary Anandasangare, reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to disrupting activities related to extortion and organized crime.

“Extortion and organized crime threaten the safety of our communities. The Government of Canada is committed to disrupting these activities through strong collaboration with law enforcement partners and decisive enforcement action. By identifying and removing inadmissible individuals involved in criminal activity, we are strengthening public safety,” Mr Anandasangare said.

Also, the CBSA president Erin O’Gorman described the removals as reflective of CBSA’s sustained efforts to identify, investigate and take action against those who pose a threat to communities in Canada.

He added, “These results also demonstrate the impact of strong collaboration with law enforcement partners across Canada and our shared commitment to combatting organized crime.”

The development came weeks after Canada deported 10,607 illegal immigrants, including Nigerians, Indians, Americans, Mexicans and others in June 2026.
