Cardi B files for divorce from Offset for second time, cites new infidelity allegations

After seven years of marriage, Grammy award-winning artist Cardi B has filed for divorce for the second time from her husband, Offset, citing new allegations of infidelity.
The high-profile couple’s marriage is ending for the second time.
According to Page Six, the petition was submitted on Wednesday. This is the second time the rapper has pursued a divorce, following a previous petition in September 2020 that was later withdrawn in November 2020. However, this time, it seems more likely to proceed.
A source, who wished to remain anonymous, told Page Six that the couple had drifted away from each other. This contradicts rumours that their marriage problems were caused by infidelity.
Cardi B and Offset, who share two children, began their relationship in early 2017 and were married in a secret ceremony in September of that year.
Their relationship has been marked by ups and downs, with previous public allegations of cheating and subsequent reconciliations. Offset’s infidelities have been a recurring issue, with multiple allegations surfacing throughout their marriage.
Despite Offset’s public apologies and grand gestures to win Cardi B back, including a famous onstage plea during one of her concerts in December 2018, their relationship has remained rough.
The first divorce filing took place in September 2020 but was withdrawn two months later, in November, after the couple attempted to reconcile.
Cardi B has openly acknowledged that her relationship with Offset has always been complex. She shared with Rolling Stone in May, “We’re best friends… It’s not just about ‘How do you break up with a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
The couple’s representatives have yet to make any public comments, and it remains to be seen how the divorce proceedings will unfold.
