Casualties as explosion rocks APC campaign rally in Rivers

At least three persons were wounded following an explosion at a campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers

Peoples Gazette learnt that there were multiple explosions on Thursday afternoon at the Rumuwoji playground, Port Harcourt.

Although, the Gazette could not immediately ascertain the real cause of the explosion, sources said the victims were taken to the hospital.

It was further learnt that the explosions caused panic among thousands of party supporters who had thronged the venue of the rally.

Darlington Nwauju, spokesman for the APC in Rivers confirmed the blast, adding that party supporters were wounded in the explosion.
