Casualties feared amid Kabul explosion

Casualties were feared after a blast was heard in western Kabul, Afghanistan, on Tuesday.
Witnesses who declined to be named said that the blast was close to students’ class in the Dasht-e-Barchi area, a suburb of Police District 18, around noon.
Meanwhile, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran confirmed the blast on his Twitter account.
“According to initial reports, a gas cylinder exploded in a shop in Naqash area of 18th district of Kabul city. Security forces and firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the blaze,” Mr Zadran stated.
This was the second blast in Afghanistan’s capital city Kabul since Sunday.
In the last blast, which occurred next to a hotel on Sunday, one person sustained injury, according to the police.
