CDS celebrates troops on Eid el-Maulud

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has felicitated officers, soldiers, ratings, airmen and civilian staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria on the occasion of Eid el-Maulud.
This is contained in a statement issued by the director of defence information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, on Friday in Abuja.
Mr Musa said the solemn day offered Nigerians an opportunity to honour his life, emulate his teachings and reflect on his message of compassion, service and humility.
He urged the personnel to observe the occasion as a time for reflection on unity, loyalty and commitment to duty.
“As the Prophet brought hope and good tidings to the world, so must we be promoters of peaceful coexistence and optimism.
“We must strengthen the bonds within our ranks and across our nation, as we continue to serve with integrity, professionalism and dedication,” he said.
The CDS assured Nigerians of the Armed Forces’ determination to preserve national unity and foster peaceful coexistence across the country.
He added that guided by the principles exemplified by the Prophet, the Armed Forces would remain resolute in protecting lives, upholding the rule of law and supporting the collective prosperity of the nation.
