The new Champions League campaign continues as Liverpool deliver a 3–2 comeback against Atletico Madrid, PSG thrash Atalanta 4–0 at home, Bayern beat Chelsea 3–1 at the Allianz, and Inter Milan defeat Ajax in Amsterdam.

Liverpool staged a dramatic 3-2 comeback against Atletico Madrid in an intense match.

Arne Slot’s side opened strongly with two goals in just six minutes, the first from a wonderful strike by Mo Salah and the second following superb link-up play from Ryan Gravenberch to Salah, who doubled their lead. Diego Simeone’s men fought back before halftime with a well-placed finish from Marcus Llorente and a clever goal by Raspadori to level the score.

After half-time, the Reds fired from all cylinders, but the end product was not there yet.

Atletico and Liverpool were all square through a decisive strike from Llorente to make it his second with an incredible volley.

Right at added time before the final whistle, a well-taken setpiece from Szoboszlai found Liverpool Captain Van Dijk to launch a brilliant header to win it for the home side, which, through the disagreement with the official on Virgil’s goal from Atletico Madrid boss, was shown a Red Card after being on a yellow earlier.

The match also marked the introduction and debut of new striker Alexander Isak to the team at Anfield.

At the Parc des Princes, Luis Henrique’s PSG demolished Atalanta with a 4-0 victory despite the absence of Dembele and Doue. The opening goal came just three minutes in, courtesy of Marquinhos.

Kvaratskhelia doubled the lead with a simple finish assisted by Hakimi. Before halftime, Bradley Barcola missed a penalty that could have extended the lead to three. In the second half, Nuno Mendes scored with an easy assist, and Goncalo Ramos added a fourth to complete the comprehensive win for the home side.

Bayern sent World Champions Chelsea back to London with a double from Harry Kane and an own goal from Trevoh Chalobah, resulting from Michael Olise’s low cross. Chelsea’s Palmer scored a fine goal to briefly halve the deficit, but couldn’t prevent Kompany’s men from dominating the match and securing the 3-1 victory.

Last season’s runner-up Inter Milan secured a win at Amsterdam with a brace from Marcus Thuram, overcoming Ajax. Other matchday fixtures included a draw between Slavia Prague and Bodo/Glimt, while Olympiacos and Pafos FC also settled for a 1-1 draw.
