Chelsea Vs Tottenham: FA bans Tuchel, fines Conte over inappropriate behaviour

English Football Association has sanctioned Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Tottenham’s Antonio Conte over ‘inappropriate behaviour’ during their teams’ Premier League clash on Sunday.
The FA in a statement on Friday handed Tuchel one match ban a fine of £35,000, while Conte was fined the sum of £15,000.
“An independent Regulatory Commission has today ordered that Thomas Tuchel be fined £35,000 and banned from the touchline for one match, and Antonio Conte be fined £15,000 after they respectively breached FA Rule E3,” the statement reads in part.
The FA further said, the duo, “Tuchel and Conte admitted that their behaviour after the final whistle of the Premier League game between Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday 14 August 2022 was improper, and both managers requested a paper hearing.”
Tuchel and Conte were sent off after the highly tense match marred by poor officiating by centre referee Anthony Taylor and VAR Mike Dean, after bickering over match ending formalities.
The match ended 2-2 but the managers’ bitter confrontation dominated discussions after last week Sunday evening’s clash between Chelsea and Tottenham.
