A former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has urged Christians to exercise true faith as they embrace spiritual essence of the Christmas season marked by the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a goodwill message on Thursday, signed by Director of his Media Office, Ohiare Michael, Mr Bello noted that Christmas carries a powerful message for the nation.

The immediate past governor described Christmas as a divine reminder of God’s intervention in human affairs through the coming of His Son.whose birth symbolises hope for humanity.

According to him, the season calls for sober reflection, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to lives anchored in love, humility, and obedience to God.

“The light brought by the birth of Christ remains relevant in guiding society through uncertainty, division, and trials.

“Nigerians should emulate the character of Christ by extending kindness to the needy, forgiving one another, and placing national interest above personal or sectional considerations.

“Therefore, Christians should be encouraged to continue to intercede for Nigeria for healing, unity, and divine direction for its leaders and institutions.

“I believe sincere prayers and righteous living remain essential in overcoming national challenges and securing a peaceful and prosperous future.”

Meanwhile, he commended the culture of religious tolerance and mutual respect in Kogi State, describing it as a testament to God’s grace and a strong foundation for sustainable peace.

He prayed God for continued protection of Nigeria against evil and disaster and expressed confidence that, with faith and collective effort, the nation would experience renewal and progress.

Mr Bello also enjoined citizens to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu, expressing optimism that God would grant the leadership the wisdom required to fulfil its mandate.
